How to create text on a curtain effect using Adobe Photoshop


In this lesson i'm going to teach you a very nice trick on how to create a text on a curtain using Adobe Photoshop.

1) open photoshop and open a 400*400 pixels document with a white background.
2) press (D) to reset the foreground and background colors to their default settings.
3) now go to the menu bar , select filter>>render>> fibers , set the variance to 16 and the strength to 4 then click ok.

4) now go back to the menu bar select filter>>blur>>motion blur , set the angle to 90 to get the realistic look of a curtain and then set the distance to 120 pixels.

5) now press ctrl+u to bring out the hue and saturation dialog box to change the color of the curtain , check the box next to colorize, then move the sliders to get the color you need.

6) go to the menu bar , select file>>save as , and save the file on your desktop , name it whatever you want.

7) now select the type tool from the toolbox , and write whatever you want in the middle of the curtain , make the size of the text a bit big so that you can see the effect clearly.

8) change the color of the text if you want so that it can match the color of the curtain.

9) go to the menu bar , select filter>>distort>>displace , leave everything as it is, dont change any value , now click ok, another box will appear giving you the option to open a file or import a file from your computer. go and select the file that you saved earlier on your desktop, click open.

10) now you can see that the text is distorted in a way as if it's a light from a projector on a curtain , you can change the blending mode and the opacity of the text to get the desired result that you want. and that's it.
